JumpStart Babies provides quality toys and products to both the professional (physical therapists, occupational therapists, special-educators and non-professionals (parents, grandparents, care-givers). Our products are geared to improve sensory-motor development. This includes balance, strengthening, motor planning, coordination, weight shifting, sensory stimulation, and last but not least FUN! Children learn and develop by doing what they do best..playing and having fun.

Welcome to JumpStart Babies!
I am a pediatric physical therapist. I work with various Early Intervention Agencies and School Districts, through the agencies and schools I see my 'babies", my "children" . Many are or were preemies and others have a wide-variety of diagnosis, syndromes, conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, downs syndrome, fetal alcohol syndrome, learning disabilities, and other health issues or developmental delays.
I found in my many years as a pediatric physical therapist, that parents of normally developing children and those who had children with developmental concerns had one very similar question. The question went something like this: "What is a good toy to help my child to sit, walk, crawl, jump, climb, jump... etc".
I decided to put together a parenting workshop on child development and appropriate toys and activities to use for each age level. I ordered some of the developmental toys that I and other therapists use daily and I brought them to my workshop. I then wanted to reach a wider audience and so started this website. A website dedicated to sensory-motor developmental toys and products. I have to admit it has been a lot of work and really not as much fun as teaching babies to walk or playing hopscotch with 1st graders. But this is something that I believe in. My life has been dedicated to helping children and their families; normal child development is part of who I am. I will continue to help parents and professionals with their quest for appropriate developmental toys and products.
